On June 28 2007 Swainsboro Lodge #244 of Swainsboro presented Mr. Clyde Herman Barnes with his 50 Year Veterans Emblem Award and Apron for faithful service to the Masonic Order. Mr. Barnes has been and continues to be a valued member of our lodge. Mr. Barnes will be eligible for the next level of award known as the Diamond Jubilee Award (60 Year) later this year, we are looking forward to presenting him also this award. The apron was presented to him by Chief of Police F.J. Shuman; other members present were Wilder Kirkland, C. Mack Griffin, Ronald Wiggins,  William Riner, and his sons Frank Rich and Cecil Rich and grandson Billy Rich, Mr. Barnes was bestowed the 3rd degree of masonry, know as the Masters degree on 9/22/1947. He is currently the oldest living active member of our lodge. Both of his sons are active members in their local Masonic Lodge and recently his grandson has become a Master Mason also.
